Most are either kept on a harness andHi Karen welcome to the group ... I have seen quite a few cats in motorhomes and caravans on my travels ...
Most are either kept on a harness and lead or in crates ... I think a crate would be good whilst travelling as long as it was secured (don't want it flying about in the case of an accident) or if your cat is harness trained perhaps a seatbelt tether would do ... it really depends on how active your cat would get whilst you are traveling. The main aim is to make sure it is safe and will not distract you.
On site if harness trained then it would be the same as any dog ... kept on the lead.
I have a large puppy pen which I put around the awning and Max is trained not to leave it even when as has happened in the past, someone else's dog has come up and tried to have a go at him.
What is the cats name?
