Day 47: Monday 28th September
A couple in a motorhome to whom we spoke yesterday evening said they had tried to bring their ferry booking forward by 12 hours but they would have had to pay an extra £60. We had wondered about arriving a few days early in Calais and doing just that too so were pleased we hadn’t.
The ferry leaves at about 11.30am French time, reaching Dover at 12 noon local time. Then back to Desford!
We arrive back home around 4.45pm, having clocked up 11,056 km (6,901 miles) over six-and-a-half weeks. We heave a massive sigh of relief, take a photo of ourselves with the van – and start thinking about our next trip…
Club Motorhome note...
We are very grateful to Harry and Jill Perry for allowing us to publish the account of their trip here. It really is a most fascinating and inspiring read. Thank you!
