Internal measures are not always obvious until entry damage is done.
Think through the scenario of someone looking to break into, or steal your van. If they see you have preventative measures installed they are not going to have an easy time of it.
Most thieves are opportunists and just want to be in without hassle. Much easier for them to move on to another less secure vehicle.
Possible visual deterents: Locks, Lock protectors ie Proplate, Flashing LED indicating an alarm or in this case an EXTERNAL ALARM.
Interior measures are good but if you are parked with your blinds closed, as is often the case, the thief won't know what they are up against until they have got access to the interior - which will most likely have caused damage. Even it they don't steal your vehicle or posessions its you who is left with repairing the damage caused by their efforts.
VANGUARDIAN is an externally fitted alarm. It doesn't need any drilling of bodywork and no wiring. Each unit is self contained and is stuck to the motorhome bodywork. The units are virtually impossible to remove without the special tool supplied. No one is going to be trying that with a 110db alarm going off in their ears!
All of the fitted units pair with each other and the key fobs (The optional interior panic button, if fitted, also pairs).
Fitting is very easy as each unit' base plate is stuck in your chosen place and then simple reassembly completes the process. The parts comprise of a base plate (the bit that sticks onto the bodywork) the speaker cabinet which also contains the batteries and finally the cover plate which also makes the unit waterproof and amplifies the siren sound.
There are no worries with any water ingress into the units when in use during bad weather, they are even waterproof against pressure washing.

So with this in mind I was delighted to be asked to fit and review VANGUARDIAN
Installing the VANGUARDIAN:
Nothing is complicated or difficult about DIY installation. All shown in our video but briefly as follows:
Each unit has to be simply dismantled to be able to activate the fitted AAA batteries then reassembled - a special tool is included for this. The backplate is stuck to the outside of the vehicle accurately and in your chosen cleaned position (special cleaning wipes provided). The alarm unit is screwed back onto the baseplate and then the cover clipped back on. That's it!
Maybe 5 minutes per unit and its all done.

Using straight out of the box after installation:
The units in a bundle come ready paired to each other via the keyfob and optional panic button so just install and use.
How it works:
Each unit protects an area around it - a zone. Depending on the size of your motorhome and the number of units installed these zones can cover all vulnerable areas.
The technical/science behind VANGUARDIAN is that it uses 'Triaxial Accelerometer Sensors' which means that once armed the system will give a 2 second alarm if anyone touches the van in a zone that is covered. This acts as a deterrent and warning that more may be to come. A further touch within 10 seconds will set the alarm off for 30 seconds or longer if there is continued activiy from the intruder.
The fobs (2 supplied) are easy to use to arm/disarm the system, pair additional units and alter the level of sensitivity if required.
The whole system is portable should you wish to change your vehicle. Although it will be necessary to buy new baseplates as the old ones will be destroyed by removal from the old vehicle. Remember access to the baseplate is only possible with the custom tool supplied for dismantling.
The units are powered by AAA batteries which should last some months between changes subject to the amount of use the alarm gets. Bonus benefit: This also means that there is no alarm drain on your vehicle battery.
