Hi All

We have bought a motorhome, LH drive, which we pick up from Kent to head to Europe for 6 or more months.
Our dealer suggested HIC insurance Walkabout policy as you don't need a fixed address, suitable for Australians, etc.
He also suggested Downunder Insurance, which is OK as the vehicle will be in Adele's name and she is under 60. (Cut off is 65 apparently).

Has anyone had any experience, or would they like to comment, perhaps with pitfalls to look out for, such as towing distances may be limited.

There are a few other questions too re personal travel insurance and VISAs on the go, but will post under separate topic.

Cheers and thanks in anticipation

Hi Trev & Adele,
We live in Oz too and are about to start our own 6 month tour of Europe. We've ended up going with Downunder insurance as they were significantly cheaper than HIC. They also allowed more countries than HIC. However, I did need to provide a UK address which we were able to do using a family member still in the UK - although they did mention a friend would also be OK.
Hope you find the right cover for the needs and good luck with the trip. Look forward to hearing how you get on.

All the best, Ian & Anne
