We will be visiting Greece in May and towards the end of May we wish to cross with van to Italy. We are planning to drive on to Sorrento, so thought a ferry to Bari might be a good option. Has anyone made such a crossing. I believe ferries are available from Patras and Igoumenitsa, as well as from Albania. I have also noted you can sleep overnight in an aircraft seat or pay more for a cabin.

Any recommendations and comments would we warmly welcomed.

I have assumed that at this time of the year we won't have to book in advance, but I may be wrong.

Cheers,
John

Hi welcome to Forum,We did Vence to Patras last year ,went from Vence early May we had booked and got an early booking discount ,boat was very busy going down to Patras ,as we checked in to come back someone tried to buy ticket ,they were told three day wait ,that was early July .
Went with Anek lines ,yes camped on board, boat journey was like watching paint dry ,very little to see other than water.
You can cook in van using electric .
