Hello everyone Terry and Sue,
We have a Elddis autoquest 140
I have just installed a dometic freshjet 1700 air con unit into it.
I am undecided whether or not to buy the dc 2 kit inverter that is recommended for this unit
Anyone got any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated
Terry
Hi Terry and Sue,

I'm really no expert on aircon units but if fitting an inverter would be to run it off your batteries then I imagine you'll need one hell of a big leisure battery bank!

The only people I have spoken to that have aircon only use them on hookup.

Hopefully someone who has first hand knowledge can advise

Hi Terry and Sue. I have no experience of this either. However it was a good opportunity to do some research. At the top setting it will draw 800 watts If I am correct that is about 7amps. What capacity do you have in your leisure batteries?

Hi Terry & Sue
I had aircom plus DC inverter could not use with a 120 amp hour battery draws to much power.
Great on hookup in Spain my aircom not the same make but sure same result.

Hi Spinner, We have a 110 ah leisure battery but I don't know what the van battery is. I have also got to look at then amperage of the alternator.
