I've invested in a nice new folding map and wondered if anyone has any bright ideas to reduce the damage caused by folding and unfolding over a period of time.

I seem to remember a fine, matt tape that draughtsmen would use to join maps and plans but can't seem to find anything like it, Sellotape seems a bit heavy for the job.

Any ideas?
Hi Neil,

Is this stuff you are talking about: a sticky matt tape like they use in libraries to repair book pages? If so its called Scotch Magic....€3.30 :woohoo: a roll 19mm x 33 metres and it certainly does the job with books

I have tried it on maps and it works OK but the maps still wind up knackered after a year or so of heavy use....stuffing them in a motorcycle top box don't help either

Sounds to me like you need a new copy of Autoroute 2013. Must sort you one out if your having to resort to paper.
