Hi Everyone

Depending on the interest - I am thinking of arranging an informal meet (Get together)for the weekend of Friday 14th September until Monday 17th September 2012.

The location would be one of our UK pubstopovers - The Ship Inn, Cliff Road, Sewerby, Bridlington. here
What to see in Sewerby here

The pub is on the coastal path between Bridlington and Flamborough Head and motorhome parking is only a few metres from the footpath with good sea views.
There is no electricity or chemical disposal point but it has an outside tap and rubbish bins. Toilets are available when the pub is open (usually 11am-11.30pm).

The walk into Bridlington (1.5km or approx 3km to Harbour) is a flat wide tarmac path and suitable for disabled users and cyclists.
The village of Flamborough with its numerous pubs and shops is approx 4.5km.
Flamborough Head approx 6km and 9km to North Landing.

The pub has just increased its prices to £15 per night with a £5 discount voucher if you spend £10 or more in the pub so £45 for the weekend or £15 for each night.

I am hoping for a minimum of 6 members with a maximum of 10 so if you're interested just add your name to this post.

I've ordered wall to wall sunshine by the way.

Any questions please get back to me.

It would be great to get this 'first' UK informal meet off the ground - so to speak.

View from site. Re no toilet disposal point. There is a manhole lid that is easily removable for dumping but no water adjacent for flushing out. Works ok for us

Hi there

Sorry you can't make it but I'm sure you'll have a great time in Germany and yes lets try and meet up before Spain 2013 as I'm sure others on the Spain meet would welcome a short get together.

Hi Chris
I would love to come but dare not commit to it at the moment as my mum is deteriorating and needs constant supervision now. Please put me down for a maybe tho and i will have to take my chances for a slot nearer the time. I am pleased you are putting together some "home" meets so to speak and have a suggestion for a venue close to where i live in Leicester near the charnwood forest if you are interested. Regards hilary

ok the venue is copt oak memorial hall and there is a quite large field for the vans which is used regularly by caravan clubs and private functions. There is a pub/restaurant next door called the copt oak that is an excellent eating house and the nearest place for walking and site seeing (bradgate park) is only a couple of miles by road or i think there is a public footpath which runs from the back of the site. Its about five mins off junction 21 of the M1 I dont know anything about the costs of hiring the hall and field but if you get onto the memorial hall web site the contact numbers are there. Mabe you or neil could add some links to hall and park i dont know how to do that sorry.

Hi - for any of you who have missed this post (it was a long time ago!!) the meet is still set for the weekend of the 15th September so if anyone fancies a weekend out or even a day or two - just add your names to this post.

There are no events organised for the weekend but there is plenty to do either walking (coastal path) , cycling, sunbathing  (ok perhaps not), getting on the local bus or just having a pint in the local.

Any questions just post and I will reply.

Unfortunately - this meet has now been CANCELLED due to lack of attendees.

We will look at organising one next year after the Spain 2013 meet.

Seeing as we've now got a free weekend - we will try out a couple of the pub stopovers in Norfolk and report back.

So sorry for not being in touch regarding the meet. I have not been spending much time on the computer lately as my mum and my mother in law passed away mid july. Even though my circumstances have now changed I still wouldnt have been able to attend that weekend which I regret because I was asking you to organise some meets here and I am sorry you havent had much response from your members. It seems strange that you havent but hopefully you can generate some interest for next year. Thankyou for trying anyway.

Very sorry to hear about your mum and mum-in-law Hilary.

No worries about the meet, obviously not the right location or date for others I guess

There will be other plans made in due course I'm sure.
