I think you will have to trawl though the brokers/insurers for quotes and whether they cover (slightly) older motorhomes, I think some cover up to 20 years but not certain.

The big names would be worth trying. Comfort, Safeguard, AIB, Insurance Choice, Insurance Factory, Adrian Flux etc. Please let us know how you get on

Hi everyone,
I am very new to this group and the whole campervan thing, so please forgive any faux pas!
We're looking to insure our lil' old campervan (1986 D reg Ford Transit) for the first time.
Just wondering if anyone could give us any heads up on good places to look for good priced insurance?
As I said, we're complete novices, so any help and advice would be very appreciated.

Mine is with a broker, motor and home direct and the specialise in camper vans and motorhomes.
My insurance started at £220 a year 3 years ago but has only risen to £227 in those 3 years, other policies I have had went up £80 or more when renewal was due without any claims etc. The van is insured for 15k, so your transit should be cheaper.
Mind you, don't know how good the insurance really is as never used it!
